Yankauer chloroform or ether mask, for use with dripped fluid. Consists of mesh mask with a trough-like rim. Covered with layers of cloth gauze, retained by a metal spring loop.

History of Object

This style of mask was developed by Sidney Yankauer at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, United States of America. Yankauer was a pioneer bronchoscopists, and died in 1932.
