Brief Description

Pocket snake-bite kit, housed in a small black case with hinged lid and push-button clasp. Interior is lined with purple cloth and holds one glass-barrelled syringe, capacity 2 drams, with metal ends and rubber plunger; two removable needles, also metal, of different sizes; two small glass bottles, each stoppered and sealed with wax, one of which is empty, one containing a milky white substance; small measure consisting of a well carved into a block of ebony; false lid of case conceals a small rectangle of muslin and a tiny bundle of short, fine wires. Also contains instruction sheet.

Label on larger bottle reads, "PURE/CHLORIDE OF LIME/Keep the bottle tightly stoppered, and expose to/light as little as possible." Paper label on smaller bottle, "PURE ALCOHOL".
