Brief Description

Typed histology report from the University of Melbourne's bacteriology laboratory, addressed to a Dr. Gibbs in Colac, dated 4 December 1913. The report was about a microscopical examination of a nodule removed from a women's breast. The patient was a Miss Annabell Abrahams, although her name was not given in the report. The donor of this artefact (possibly a daughter or sister of Ms. Abrahams) states that the report was given directly to the patient with an account for payment of the laboratory fees.

This letter was originally owned by Annabell Abrahams and later acquired by her daughter or sister, Elsie Abrahams. The letter was donated to the Medical History Museum in 1989.

The cover of this booklet is a copy of a painting, originally produced by Dr. Morris Davis to mark the occasion. The Colour Television Programme was arranged by the staff of the Alfred Hospital on behalf of the Melbourne Post-Graduated Committee.
