Barry Hill's widow showed this set to Dr D. Lawson, who in turn showed and passed it on to Professor G.W. Crock (Department of Ophthalmology, Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital), who in turn thought it would be a fine set for the Medical History Museum.

Schioetz Tonometer in original blue velvet and satin lined black case. two slotted weights marked "10" and "7.5" are included, together with smooth 'button' attachment. Scale of instrument reads from 0-20. Serial number 2183 is engraved at zero end of scale. Weight pin marked 5.5. Compartment under lid contains card with instructions scale for conversion to mmHg.
