Marked on plaque "Both CARDIOGRAPH No.193" Marked on disc "Both RECORDING DISC. NO. DU62." There is also a measured sequence form 0 to 30 on the disc. Metal labels clipped on to wires protruding from cable are marked "R.A.", "C', "L.A.", "L.L.".

Brief Description

Both portable cardiograph has a wooden case and lid with latch on each side and a leather handle. Accessories include a recording disc (carbon coated), two sets of cables, a crank handle and a canvas cloth cover with leather trimming and a green velvet lining. The cardiograph has a microscope lens on a swivel mount situated above the recording disc.

Pneumothorax (accumulation of air or gas in the pleural space) is induced intentionally by this machine, to allow the lung to collapse in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.
