The University of Melbourne Department of Medicine at the Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre is active in medical education for undergraduate and postgraduate students and research. In 2002 it had 80 research personnel pursuing a wide range of basic biomedical and clinical research studies. These studies were in the areas of cardiovascular function, neruosciences, diabetes and bone disease, clinical pharmacology, gastroenterology, thoracic medicine, clinical genetics and oncology. Over 70 postgraduate students were enrolled in Honours, MSc and PhD programs. |
