The University of Melbourne Department of Psychology was established in 1948 in response to a growing demand for psychologists in the post-World War II period. It was originally part of the Faculty of Arts and, among other things, provided specialised teaching programs to the Faculty of Medicine. It became part of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences in 1991. |
