In February 2001, the University of Melbourne established Australia's first School of Population Health within its Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. It brought together seven teaching and research centres and units associated with state-wide public health. These units provided a population health approach to clinical medicine, molecular biology, mental health, indigenous health, and communicable and chronic diseases. |
