Fairley, Neil Hamilton (1891 - 1966)

Born: 15 July 1891  Inglewood, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 19 April 1966.

Neil Hamilton Fairley, a 1915 University of Melbournemedical graduate, made important contributions to the health of Australian forces during World War I and World War II.

He was knighted in 1950 for helping ensure the success of the Pacific Islands campaign. He oversaw research on atebrin to prevent malaria from early 1943, and helped organise its production and distribution to the troops.
